Data Conversions*

Most people are fearful of data loss when changing from one practice management software to another. MedStar offers its clients the option of a data conversion prior to going live on MedStar to alleviate any concerns caused by such a transition.

MedStar can perform three types of conversions: demographic only, demographic with appointments, or financial. The demographic conversion can transfer over a patient's name, address, phone number, date of birth, social security number, and insurance company and guarantor information. Demographic with appointments conversion includes above demographic conversion, as well as, the appointment information contained in their current scheduler. A financial conversion can include all of the above, plus insurance and patient balances.

*Conversions require the current software vendor be able to provide the client with data
  files in an ASCII format for import into MedStar tables.

HL7 Interface

MedStar's HL7 interface provides medical entities instant access to patient and transaction information. MedStar's HL7 interface can process essential data elements from multiple HL7 feeds and import the data directly into the MedStar database. This system interface can also work the opposite way, where data can be exported from MedStar to multiple HL7 feeds set up to send data to other healthcare information systems.

Custom Programming Services
