Upon patient check-in, the MedStar scheduler transfers the appointment to MDTablet's dashboard (daily work list), thus alerting the nurse that the patient is waiting to be seen. 

At the same time, MedStar transfers the patient demographics to MDTablet for the creation of the patient's superbill and electronic medical record.

After the nurse records patient vitals and history on the MDTablet, the physician's dashboard notifies him that the patient is ready to be seen.

The physician then completes the exam in MDTablet, and utilizes the virtual superbill to indicate the procedures and diagnoses specific for that patient's visit.

The MDTablet then sends this information to MedStar's EMR encounter processor for creation of the billing claim.
